Gautrain is a rapid transit system in Gauteng, South Africa, connecting Johannesburg to Pretoria, Kempton Park, and Johannesburg Airport with a total length of 80km (50 miles). Gautrain takes just 15 minutes to commute from Sandton to OR Tambo International Airport and 35 minutes from Pretoria (Tshwane) to Park Station in Johannesburg. The Gautrain has ten stations, and travelers can take buses, shuttles, and minibusses to reach all except O.R. Tambo International Airport Station. It is not connected to any bus or shuttle services for transportation.

The trip from O.R Tambo International Airport to Sandton is relatively short and efficient, usually taking only 25 minutes to complete. This makes it a very convenient journey. Johannesburg Airport's Central Terminal Building features the Gautrain station, providing an efficient means of transportation for passengers.

Gautrain's station at the airport is located on two levels above Terminal A Arrivals and one level above Terminal A Departures. You can get to the restaurant from Terminal A Arrivals on the ground level and Terminal A Departures on the first level through a lift or use an escalator on the first level of Terminal A Departures close to KFC. The airport provides information & instructions to assist travelers with navigating their way around.

You will need to purchase a Gautrain gold card to get on the Gautrain. These can be purchased from ticket offices or vending machines at R13 per card. When you purchase the card, you can load it with whatever amount of credit you desire. This payment is combined with the cost of buying the card. For a safe and smooth journey, it is recommended that you put R300 onto your card. This will be sufficient to get you to Hatfield Station and enable you to use the Gautrain busses. The one-way fare from the airport to Hatfield is R 155.

To register your Gautrain Gold Card, head to the ticket office and remember to bring your passport. To get to Marlboro station from OR Tambo, you must take the train and travel until you reach your destination. After disembarking at Marlboro Station, take the North-South Commuter train and remain on it until you reach Hatfield Station, located after Pretoria Station. If you're at Hatfield station, you can walk or take a taxi to your destination hotel.
